2025 KSRBA YOUTH CONTESTS

KSRBA sponsors annual youth contests to promote the rabbit hobby and encourages youth participants to develop their rabbit & cavy knowledge and husbandry skills. Through these contests, participants also personally grow through exhibiting responsibility, teamwork and leadership. 

All youth contests will be held Saturday, October 12, 2024 at KSRBA Annual Convention & Show.

Individual Contests

Showmanship, Judging, and Breed Identification contests are all held Saturday morning of convention, October 12, 2024. These contests are open to all youth in attendance at convention, no membership or rabbit show entry is required.  

Age Divisions: 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-8
Open to all youth present at Convention

Management Contest

Recognizing excellence of management style by ARBA youth members in the areas of housing & equipment, feeding & animal care, disease control, record keeping, breeding & genetics for the care and production of rabbits and/or cavies.   

Age Divisions: 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-8
Open to all KSRBA members, Convention attendance not required

Achievement Contest

Recognizing outstanding achievement and leadership by youth members in the rabbit and/or cavy industry, as measured by activities and leadership in organizations and associations, performance at the show table, achievements in breeding and raising animals and the vision and goals set for themselves and their project. 

Age Divisions: 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-8
Open to all KSRBA members, Convention attendance not required

Royalty

Combining academic achievement and hands-on contests, this is KSRBA’s premiere youth program.  
Royalty Includes:

  • Presubmitted Written Application
  • Written Test and Oral Interview at Convention
  • Showmanship, Judging, and Breed Identification Contests at Convention

Age Divisions: 5-8 (Lord/Lady), 9-11 (Prince/Princess), 12-14 (Duke/Duchess), 15-8 (King/Queen)
Royalty is open to KSRBA members only
